The credit goes to Gonzalo Higuain for scoring this goal, but man did Manolo Gabbiadini do amazing work to set it up. That run was beautiful.
Early goals are always good in knockout ties, and early away goals are even better. Some heads-up football from Henrique Buss got Napoli on the scoreboard early as he got his head on to a poor clearance from Trabzonspor's goalkeeper after a point-blank save on Kalidou Koulibaly.
Napoli are through to the Coppa Italia semi-final thanks to this late stunner from Gonzalo Higuain. Andrea Rannochia made a terrible error on a throw-in to gift him the goal, but Napoli fans won't be complaining.
From the angle, it looked impossible, but Gonzalo Higuain cares not for "impossible." What a divine finish.
This could prove the decisive moment of the match. Gianluigi Buffon went up to grab a cross, came down with the ball a little loose, crashed in to Koulibaly, lost the ball, then Caceres inexplicably put the ball in to his own net. Napoli weren't awarded a goal, however, because Paolo Tagaliavento adjudged Koulibaly to have, somehow, fouled Buffon despite only having gotten in the way. What do you think? Foul, or no foul?
Whether this goes down in the end as a goal for Marek Hamsik or an own goal, the end result is the same: Napoli are winning this match.
Rafael to Marek Hamsik to Gonzalo Higuain. Too easy, but so lovely.
It was a boring start to the match, but Jose Callejon changed that just before the half hour mark. Napoli raced forward and got the ball in to the box, and Callejon slipped in behind the defense to hammer it home.
The cross from Jonathan De Guzman was lovely, but the positioning, leap, and header from Gonzalo Higuain was even better as he beat Gianluigi Buffon and equalized the score at 1-1 in the Supercoppa Italiana.
