Napoli player ratings for FIFA 16 released

The annual release of EA's FIFA video game serious is fast approaching, with FIFA 16 slated to come out on September 22nd. With just two weeks to go, the player ratings have slowly been getting parsed out, and now we have a look at what Napoli's squad will look like in the top football video game around.

As always, Futhead are on the ball with getting everything gathered into one easy-to-use resource, and their Napoli squad list looks fairly impressive. Their top three players for the partenopei remain unchanged from the start of last season: Gonzalo Higuain ranks in at 84 -- still good for sixth-best in Serie A as it was a year ago -- with Marek Hamsik at 83 and Dries Mertens at 82. In total, Napoli have eight players rated in the 80's on EA's 0-100 scale, up from five players a year ago.

While the top of the list didn't change, there was a fair bit of movement in the rankings below them. Lorenzo Insigne cracked the 80's, riding the strong close to his season to come in at 81. Jose Callejon and -- somehow -- Raul Albiol got slight bumps as well, reaching the same rating as Insigne after starting last season at 80. Faouzi Ghoulam shot up four points from a year ago to 78, while Koulibaly went up six points to the same rating.

For some reason, Camilo Zuniga was handed a four-point boost to reach a 77 rating. Because he looked so, er, mediocre at the Copa America? After not really playing last season? No, I don't get it either.

Among Napoli's new signings, Allan is the cream of the crop at 81, a seven-point boost from where he was at the end of last season. Vlad Chiriches and Mirko Valdifiori look like very useful players in the game as well, coming in at 77 each.

This year's version of FIFA features a number of technical upgrades, as well as more-detailed version of a number of stadiums that had only been roughly featured in the past. It also includes the ability to play with women's national teams for the first time ever, which is perhaps not surprising after the rampant popularity of this summer's Women's World Cup.
