Kalidou Koulibaly is fit to start against Juventus, but Ivan Strinic and Manolo Gabbiadini are not

After missing out against Cesena, Kalidou Koulibaly will be fit to start in Napoli's sold-out match against Juventus this weekend, but it's unlikely either new signing will be starting just yet.

Napoli were back in training Wednesday morning after soundly beating Cesena on Tuesday, with the triumphant squad in high spirits after getting the new year off to such a resoundingly successful start. The players who took part in the 4-1 win had lighter work as they recovered from their efforts, but the rest of the squad got down to the nitty-gritty preparation for facing Juventus this weekend.

As news came out that the San Paolo is already sold out, with over 45,000 tickets sold for Sunday's match, other good news also emerged: after missing out on the Cesena match with an unspecified fitness issue, Kalidou Koulibaly will be ready to start against Juve on Sunday. Koulibaly's form had dipped from his spectacular start, but he rebounded with a fantastic performance against the Old Lady in the Supercoppa. If he can repeat that quality this weekend, it will give Napoli a very good chance indeed to pull even closer to the top of the table.

Not starting, however, will be either of Napoli's new signings. Ivan Strinic apparently arrived dealing with a rib injury that he's still not quite all the way recovered from, and Manolo Gabbiadini won't have had enough time in training yet for Rafa Benitez to be comfortable starting just yet. Both should be available from the bench if needed, however, so at least one of them could make their debut.

Of course, that means another start for Miguel Britos at left back, with Faouzi Ghoulam already gone to Algeria for national team duty ahead of the African Cup of Nations tournament. Hopefully he stays as constrained and responsible against Juventus as he was against Cesena.
