Carpi vs. Napoli: Confirmed lineups, match discussion, and how to watch Serie A online

It's matchday, and Napoli aren't pulling any punches despite the short rest.

It's time to take on Carpi as Napoli look to make it three wins in a row heading into a crucial match with Juventus this weekend. Napoli need to make sure they don't lose focus and don't get caught looking ahead, because another embarrassment to a smaller team would be too much to take right now.

To that end, Napoli have named a shockingly strong lineup. For some reason, it includes Marek Hamsik, who is at less than 100% after spraining his ankle on Sunday. Risking him for this match seems ill-advised, but maybe he's recovered better than we'd been lead to believe? Hard to get a read on that one.

Anyways, instead of seeing four or five changes to the lineups as we'd expected, we got two: Mirko Valdifiori starting for Jorginho -- gulp -- and Dries Mertens starting for Jose Callejon. Valdifiori has been the much shakier player this season, quickly losing the calm confidence he showed in preseason and Napoli's first league match. Hopefully he gets it back and improves dramatically in this game. Mertens starting is always a good thing, so nothing more needs to be said there.

Lineups

Carpi: Benussi; Zaccardo, Romagnoli, Bubnjic; Letizia, Lollo, Cofie, Fedele, Gabriel Silva; Matos, Mbakogu

Napoli: Reina, Hysaj, Albiol, Koulibaly, Ghoulam, Allan, Valdifiori, Hamsik, Insigne, Higuaín, Mertens

It appears that there is no English-language coverage of this match, thanks to midweek League Cup action in England. Yay. Other live viewing options can be found here.
