Napoli have a thin squad for the second match in a row, thanks to three players sitting out with injuries and two more with yellow card suspensions.
Defenders Raul Albiol and Faouzi Ghoulam are both suspended for Sunday's match against Atalanta after picking up yellow cards last weekend. The issue is further compounded by Ivan Strinic still being out with a muscle strain, as well as Walter Gargano and Michu remaining out in midfield.
That's almost certainly going to force Miguel Britos in to action at left back, a position he's only been so much as passably decent in once this season, with most of his other appearances there ending somewhere between "bad" and "disastrous." While Kalidou Koulibaly is fit to play on the back line again, the other two spots will be filled by two of three out-of-form players in Henrique, Giandomenico Meso, and Christian Maggio. This might not be the most fun of days for Napoli fans.
Surprisingly, Bruno Uvini has been recalled to the squad after only being called in once since his return from loan. The Brazilian's inclusion over youngster Sebastiano Luperto is something of a surprise, as the Italian youth has been the preferred emergency defender of late. The full 22 man matchday squad is listed below.
Goalkeepers: Rafael Cabral, Mariano Andujar, Roberto Colombo
Defenders: Christian Maggio, Giandomenico Mesto, Bruno Uvini, Camilo Zuniga, Miguel Britos, Henrique, Kalidou Koulibaly
Midfielders: Gokhan Inler, David Lopez, Jorginho, Jonathan De Guzman, Dries Mertens, Marek Hamsik
Forwards: Jose Callejon, Manolo Gabbiadini, Duvan Zapata, Lorenzo Insigne, Gonzalo Higuain
