It's time for Napoli to take on Cesena in the partenopei's first match of 2015. A big win would be an emphatic statement that Napoli are back and ready to take the Scudetto chase by storm.
So Rafa rotates. After a two week break. We don't get it either.
Henrique Buss, Miguel Britos, Walter Gargano, and Jonathan De Guzman are all in the lineup instead of Kalidou Koulibaly, Faouzi Ghoulam*, Jorginho, or Dries Mertens. Yes, that's right, even though he has a shiny new actually-a-left-back backup left back, Rafa is running out Britos at left back again. Sure, Strinic has only been in training for a week, but for crying out loud Britos still isn't a left back, and you have to break Strinic in sometime. Against the second-worst team in the league who happen to lack a good right winger seems an opportune moment.
*Who's absence was expected because he just left for AFCON training camp with Algeria.
Oh, and Manolo Gabbiadini is serving a yellow card suspension, so he's not even on the bench. Yay!
Cesena: Leali; Capelli, Magnusson, Lucchini; Giorgi, Valzania, Ze Eduardo, Cascione, Mazzotta; Brienza; Hugo Almeida
Napoli: Rafael; Maggio, Albiol, Henrique, Britos; David Lopez, Gargano; De Guzman, Hamsik, Callejon; Higuain
