Napoli have a 1-0 lead in their Audi Cup opening match against Atlético Madrid thanks to a gorgeous, cross-body volley to the far corner from Jose Callejon and a lovely assist from Faouzi Ghoulam. Some shots will make the shot look more dramatic, but this overhead view of the play best shows how it developed and the difficulty of the finish.

Ghoulam served up a well-angled first-time cross on a ball from Marek Hamsik, sent in in such a way that Filipe Luis had no idea how to play it. That let the ball slip through to a waiting Callejon, who made no mistake in hammering it home across Jan Oblak, who had previously been very strong against the best Napoli chances of the day.
It’s a very nice goal and was — until Fernando Torres’ equalizer — a well deserved lead for Napoli, who despite not really playing at full speed so far in this match have been the better side on the day. It’s a promising sign for a team that’s got some big matches in the coming weeks, and hopefully we see more such good signs over the next day.
