Reports out of Italy indicate that we'll be learning more about Napoli's kit for next season soon, with the club slated to unveil them before their final home game of the season when they take on Frosinone on the final day of the Serie A season, May 15th.
Details of the home kit's design are scarce, but there is one intriguing bit of news -- Napoli will apparently be adding a third shirt sponsor, with the logo for Kimbo coffee slated to appear somewhere on the back of the shirt. Details of this sponsorship are unknown, but presumably we'll be learning more about it over the next two weeks. Kimbo will join long-standing primary shirt sponsor Lete, as well as their secondary sponsor of the last two seasons, pasta company Garofalo.
The only other detail we have is that one of the change kits will apparently be black with gold numbers, a big departure from many of the alternate shirts we've seen in recent years. It's hard to screw up a black shirt, at least, so hopefully that will wind up looking as good as it has the potential to.
Next season's shirt will be the second of the five-year kit deal that Napoli signed with Kappa last year. That deal is worth €8 million per season, a big step up from their old Macron deal -- but still a far cry short of sponsorship deals held by clubs like Juventus and Roma, not to mention compared to those of the big English teams. This season's shirts were met with mixed reviews -- the home kit is fine, if a bit boring, and the unpopular red away kit and under-used gray third kit were based off the exact same template, making the whole selection rather uninspiring. Hopefully Kappa do better by Napoli next season -- though no one will exactly be holding their breath on that front.
No images have emerged yet of what Napoli's kits next season will look like, though now that we know that the release is coming, we'll likely start seeing something over the next week or so. When we get them, or get news of this apparent new Kimbo sponsorship, we'll bring it to you guys as soon as possible.
