On Sunday, Napoli fans stood with one of their players against racism. After Kalidou Koulibaly was subject to racist chants and taunts in Rome against Lazio, thousands of Napoli fans came into the San Paolo with pictures of his face and held them up in support and solidarity with the defender. For his part, Koulibaly was extremely appreciative of the gesture:
An unforgettable moment for me! Thanks to all the fans at the San Paolo that have made this a nice time with this memorable initiative for me and the whole world. This victory is truly yours! THANKS
It was amazing to read about before it happened, and even moreso to see it in action. It was a fantastic display of both support and defiance from the Napoli faithful, and it clearly touched both Koulibaly and the squad as a whole.
Well done, partenopei faithful. Well done.
