After weeks of pursuing midfielders to shore up the squad, Napoli have finally succeeded in securing one's signature. Jonathan de Guzmán put pen to paper on a contract with the partenopei on Wednesday afternoon, and although there are no details of the deal just yet, it's thought the club paid around €7m.

The Canadian-Dutchman comes via Villarreal, although it's been quite some time since he's played in Spain. De Guzmán spent the last two seasons on loan at Swansea, but the Welsh outfit decided they likely couldn't afford to bring him in on a permanent deal.
(Interesting, as it's reported that they spent more on Federico Fernández)
The midfielder gives added depth to the squad, giving Rafa Benítez a reliable backup as Napoli pursue success on multiple fronts. Still, he's not the ball-winner Napoli have been looking for, which means we could still be seeing plenty more transfer rumors over the next few days.
