A year after securing a third-place finish in Serie A, Napoli are set to spend €81 million on wages in the 2017-18 season. That number makes them the fifth-highest-spending team in the league, behind only Juventus, AC Milan, Roma, and Inter Milan. It shouldn’t be any surprise to see Juventus topping the list, with a wage bill of €164 million.

To put that into perspective, Napoli are in the top quarter of Serie A spenders and are still being outspent by Juventus by 102%. That is, frankly, absurd. It also goes a long ways to explaining how they continue to win, year after year.

As for individuals, Lorenzo Insigne tops Napoli’s list, with wages of €3.6 million. That’s enough to make him the twelfth-highest paid player in the league. Coming in on top? That’s a tie between Juventus’ Gonzalo Higuaín and Milan’s Leonardo Bonucci. Both players are set to make €7.5 million this year.

Finally, the other bit of money ranking gives us a glimpse into the coaches. There Maurizio Sarri is the sixth-highest paid coach in the league, set to make €1.4 million this year. Who’s making the most? Well, I’m sure you already know the answer to that.
