The international break is done and dusted, and it’s time for the real matches to start again. Napoli’s players are back, training has recommenced, and it’s time for them to head south to Sicily to face Palermo.

Despite the chaos that eternally embroils Palermo — they’ve already replaced their manager, and new man Roberto De Zerbi is suspended for his first match in charge after a post-match fracas in a playoff game with Foggia in the spring — they’re a solid team that Napoli will need to take seriously. Now, because of that chaos Palermo don’t seem particularly well prepared for this match, but we all know how Napoli have a penchant for struggling in matches when they should clearly dominate.

Of course, fans hope that such struggles are behind them. Napoli did look better in such matches a season ago under Maurizio Sarri, and with a side even better suited to his methods this year there should be even greater improvement. Even on the road, there’s a lot of reason for optimism, and with a healthy Napoli side taking the field against a reeling Palermo squad we could have one heck of a fun day on our hands.

Unless we don’t. That.... well, let’s not consider that option.

Predicted Lineups Sure To Be Wrong

Napoli: Reina; Hysaj, Albiol, Koulibaly, Ghoulam; Allan, Jorginho, Hamsik; Callejon, Milik, Mertens

Palermo: Posavec; Rispoli, Gonzalez, Rajkovic, Alesesami; Jajalo, Henrique, Hiljemark; Embalo, Diamanti, Bentivegna
