Napoli take hail-mary shot at Harry Kane

You can probably guess how Tottenham Hotspur responded.

Napoli’s search for another striker is ongoing and seems far from over, but while it hasn’t been productive of late, you certainly can’t fault Napoli for making some bold efforts. That’s because according to Sky Italia, they called up English Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur and asked them how much it would take to buy Harry Kane.

One can only assume the answer was Daniel Levy laughing until he passed out.

While such an effort was always doomed from the start — Spurs aren’t selling Kane any time soon — it’s certainly a bold effort. Even though it was never going to work, it’s at least a strong statement of intent from Napoli that they’re not going to settle for mediocrity, they’re going to kick over every rock they can think of, even if actually getting something out of it is a long shot. Because when that kind of long shot pays off, it pays off big.

Now let’s just hope that Napoli actually get an actual big transfer or two done soon. They’re running out of time.
