Thursday press conference "about the future of Napoli," not Rafa Benitez

There have been numerous questions and theories as to what's going to happen with Napoli's mysterious Thursday press conference. Aurelio De Laurentiis and Rafa Benitez will be facing the media just three days before the season's final and most crucial match, with a Champions League playoff spot on the line against Lazio -- and just four days before Benitez is expected to take the currently-empty manager's post at Real Madrid.

The timing is strange, and having both De Laurentiis and Benitez there seems odd under current circumstances, as there's not much to talk to the media about involving both if Benitez is leaving as assumed. With theories flying from every corner, the club decided to clarify things ... sort of.

Napoli underline that the Press conference scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday May 28 at 13:00 in the technical centre at Castel Volturno, with the President Aurelio De Laurentiis and the Coach Rafa Benitez, will only cover relevant issues and not the future of Benitez.

Therefore, any questions about the future of the Coach will not be accepted.

So it's not about the future of Benitez, only the team, and any questions about Rafa's future will be ignored. That clarifies ... nothing, really. If anything, it raises more questions. Why bother having Rafa there if his future isn't up for discussion? This is going to be a weird one.
