Napoli secured a win and Europa League advancement with an efficient if dull performance. Which players stood out from the rest?

It wasn't a rousing performance full of wonder and vigor, but Napoli still had a good day against Trabzonspor. They scored a goal, kept a clean sheet, and were in full control of the flow of the match. Who was the team's best, though? Read on and see what the match ratings say, then vote in the poll to voice your choice for man of the match.

Starters

Rafael Cabral - 6 - Only had to make two saves and handled them well. Showed that he's still better than Mariano Andujar on crosses and distribution. Hopefully he keeps starting, but who knows at this point, the narrative is still shockingly strongly against him.

Giandomenico Mesto - 6 - Solid enough defensively against Zengin, but the less said about his attacking efforts the better.

Henrique - 6 - Didn't have a whole lot to do because wow was Trabzonspor bad at creating danger, but kept Cardozo pretty well in check when the striker was in his area.

Britos - 6 - See Henrique's entry.

Faouzi Ghoulam - 7 - Nice performance for Ghoulam, turning Hurmaci in to a non-factor and doing a lot of very good work in attack. Several of Napoli's best attacks came as the result of his passes or his charges up the left flank.

Gokhan Inler - 6 - Inler was quite good last week, but just kind of OK in this match. Had some shaky passes and decisions, but also some pretty decent ones. Despite the general mediocrity of his performance, this was still one of his better days this season. That's kind of a sad statement on how his year has gone.

Jorginho - 7 - We got to see a little bit of the Jorginho we know and love today, pinging around some lovely passes and serving as an excellent hub of Napoli's possession. Also did a pretty dang good job working against Ekici in defense, which is no easy feat.

Jose Callejon - 8 - Dominated Trabzonspor's back line, shredding Dogan over and over again and causing constant chaos. It was unfortunate that he didn't score, because Ziggy definitely deserved a goal for this performance.

Jonathan De Guzman - 7 - Scored Napoli's goal and was improved in possession from what we've recently seen from him, though still not as good as you would hope from that central role in attacking midfield.

Dries Mertens - 7 - Much better from Dries today than most of his recent appearances. His passing and runs were dangerous again, particularly one stunning pass over the top to Callejon at the far post, sadly wasted as Ziggy was offside.

Gonzalo Higuain - 6 - It's not that Higuain was ineffective, he just wasn't nearly as dangerous as he could have been. He floated around and found spaces fine, as he often does in his good matches, but there were several times when there was a run begging to be made to rip open the defense and he just didn't make it. It's not like it was needed today, but, well, you like to see these things happen when they're there to be done.

Substitutes

Duvan Zapata - 6 - Made a couple of dangerous runs, but his touch let him down more often than not.

Manolo Gabbiadini - 6 - Didn't do a ton of work on the ball himself, but made a couple filthy dummy runs that created chances for Callejon and Hamsik.

Marek Hamsik - 6 - Fairly influential for a late sub, but there just wasn't much time to do much, or need for him to push particularly hard.
