Another match, another opportunity for Napoli. This time, they have the chance to make sure they're still playing in Europe next spring with a fourth straight Europa League group stage win. Can they bounce back from Sunday's disappointment and do what needs doing? Time to find out.
Bouncing back with a win
Napoli are coming off the heels of one brutally disappointing result, losing a chance to sit atop Serie A by drawing with Genoa in an underwhelming performance. Now they've got a chance to secure their ticket to the Europa League knockout rounds with a win -- a draw would actually do, but a win is obviously preferred -- and they need to bring their focus back to the task at hand.
We already know that Maurizio Sarri will make at least some rotation, with Christian Maggio set to start and others like Vlad Chiriches likely to rotate in as has been normal for these matches of late. Still, expect a side that's fairly close to full strength, as Napoli will want to assure this win to give them security and freedom in how they operate in their last two Europa League group matches after this.
Trying to right the ship
Midtjylland were riding high right up until Napoli thrashed them last month. Since then, they've lost three straight matches, and combined with that first loss to Napoli they've been outscored thirteen goals to six. That's not great stuff.
Of course, Midtjylland are still a good team. There's a reason why fans were worried about them going into Napoli's trip to Denmark -- Jess Thorup is a very good manager with a sound tactical sense, and Midtjylland are more talented than you'd expect from most Danish teams. If Thorup manaed to learn something from that match that he feels he can exploit, Napoli might not be in for nearly as easy a time as they were two weeks ago.
