There are no surprises in this weekend's match squad as Napoli prepare to face Lazio in a duel for third place in Serie A, with the only new name on the absentee list being Miguel Britos. The Uruguayan defender picked up his fourth yellow card in the league against Juventus last weekend, so is forced to sit out a suspension for accumulation.
That paves the way for new signing Ivan Strinic to make his debut, which has been delayed thanks to a nagging rib injury from before his signing. It's possible that Giandomenico Mesto starts at left back instead of the Croatian, but Mesto hasn't played much this season and has never really impressed at left back when he has played over there. Given the importance of the match, playing the guy with more upside is the better option.
We could see Giandomenico Mesto make his starting debut as well this weekend, after coming on as a substitute against Juventus a week ago. It feels more likely, however, that Rafa Benitez waits to have that moment come against Udinese midweek in the Coppa Italia. The more likely wide men will be Jose Callejon (of course) and Dries Mertens.
The other absences are the usual suspects: Faouzi Ghoulam is still away at AFCON (Algeria play their first match on Monday against South Africa), and each of Lorenzo Insigne, Camilo Zuniga, and Michu are still out with their respective injuries.
