Not only will Sunday's match against Juventus be momentous because, well, every match between Napoli and Juventus is momentous, but we could also see two new players debut for Napoli as well. Both Manolo Gabbiadini and Ivan Strinic have been named to the matchday squad, after neither player were able to play against Cesena thanks to suspension and injury, respectively.
It's unlikely that either player starts just yet; Gabbiadini has had limited time in training and Strinic is likely still not quite ready for a full match after being slowed down by an apparent broken rib from before his signing. Still, just having both player in the matchday squad and ready to rock is a huge step up for depth-desperate Napoli.
Gabbiadini making his debut would be extra notable for this match, given that Juventus had been sitting on part of his rights via co-ownership for several years before letting him go to Napoli. The Bianconeri had been hoping to find a place for him in their squad, but the opportunity never properly came and they decided to cut bait. You just know he's aching for a chance to prove their choice wrong, and will be flying around if he's put in to the match.
In terms of absences, Faouzi Ghoulam is still away with Algeria for AFCON duty. Lorenzo Insigne, Camilo Zuniga, and Michu are still out wioth their respective injuries. The full 22-man squad named for Sunday's match is listed below.
