It appears as though Napoli may have found its golden goose. According to Calciomercato, Javier Mascherano is in the finalization process of a Napoli contract. If this is the case, this would be a massive pick up for the Partenopei during the off season.
Mascherano's credentials as a world class player cannot be questioned after being one of the integral members of one of the best FC Barcelona sides of all time. Not only this, but Mascherano is also very well acquainted with former coach Rafa Benitez, and Argentine teammates Federico Fernandez and Gonzalo Higuaín. All this implies that not only would good ol' Javier fit in, he would seamlessly transition into a defensive role for Napoli. I would expect Rafa to use him somewhat similar to the way he has been using Henrique (except for that whole RB experiment).
Of course this is all just reports and nothing can be solidified until Mascherano is posing with ADL in a delightfully awkward picture with a Napoli jersey. Besides, Mascherano's price tag is sure to be enormous and if Barcelona's interest in Zúñiga is to be believed, it is incredibly possible that Camilo could be used as an extra deal sweetener. Would you take Camilo + cash for Mascherano? I have to say that I personally would at this point.
