It’s been a long and difficult road since Arkadiusz Milik tore up his knee on international duty for Poland almost a year ago, but if his performance against Hellas Verona is any indication, he’s just about back to his best — and he proved it by scoring a terrific goal to give Napoli their first goal of the season that they scored themselves.
GOOOOAAAAL: @en_sscnapoli do it all themselves this time! Great pressure leads to @arekmilik9 finish. 0-2 pic.twitter.com/iXoHxqYvbu

Now, Napoli already had a 1-0 lead before Milik scored, but that came from an own goal so it didn’t really count as Napoli’s first goal of the season. This one definitely counts, though, with a clever run to get onto a sublime ball from Lorenzo Insigne on the counter attack, and an inch-perfect half-volley finish.
It’s only Milik’s second goal scored since his return from injury earlier in 2017, with the first being an oft-forgotten late goal against Sassuolo in April. Napoli have an absolutely lethal attack without a healthy and in-form Milik in the team, but with him, it brings up the quality of the team in the final third to a whole other level, not to mention giving Maurizio Sarri a lot of much-needed options for depth and substitutions.
So please, Milik, score a lot more of those. You deserve the success, and Napoli could really use your best form again as they aim at chasing the Serie A title this season.
