Edinson Cavani says 'why not?' to Napoli return

The Paris Saint-Germain star is very open to the idea of coming back home to Naples.

Every Napoli fan around loves Edinson Cavani for everything he did during his time at the club, and the feeling is quite mutual. Many of the partenopei faithful dream of an eventual return to the San Paolo for the Uruguayan strongman, and by the sound of things, Cavani himself wouldn't mind the idea himself once it's time for him to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

Would I go back to Italy? Napoli? Why not? Here in Paris, I always watch Napoli on TV, when it fits in with training commitments and our own games.

I must confess, this year I’m very passionate, I feel very happy to see the team playing well, having fun and getting results. I still have a lot of friends in Naples, it’s a city which remains in my heart.

It would be a dream to see El Matador wearing a Napoli shirt again. Things have never gone quite according to plan for Cavani in Paris, as the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic has forced him to play roles that don't suit him as well. A return to Napoli -- presumably after Gonzalo Higuain leaves, but just imagine them forming a strike partnership up top -- would allow the 28 year old to get back to his strengths and return to dominance.

And who doesn't want to see a dominant Cavani again? When he was at his best with Napoli, he was one of the most fun players to watch, constantly flying around the pitch, full of energy and passion and, most importantly, goals galore. His form can be a little streaky, sure, but so is Higuain's and so are most strikers in general.

Come home, Cavani. We miss you. We want you back. Naples is where you belong.
