Cesare Prandelli has never coached either Blerim Džemaili or Goran Pandev, but he's quite eager to have both of them join him in Turkey. After Italy's miserable experience at the World Cup, Prandelli accepted the coaching gig at Galatasaray, and has been attempting ever since to woo players over from Italy.
And according to Di Marzio, he's succeeded in convincing the Napoli pair. Džemaili will have a three-year deal, while Pandev a one-year contract with an option for a second. They're both set to arrive tomorrow, although neither club has confirmed the transfers.
Pandev, who's been at Napoli the past two seasons, will hardly be missed. It must be said the 31-year-old is excellent at drawing penalties, however, a talent he may be ready to display in Galatasaray's Champions League play. Džemaili, with the partenopei for the past three years, was certainly a valuable squad player, and it's too bad he can't be kept on. His speculative shots from distance will certainly be missed -- particularly the ones that mange to find the back of the net.
