Napoli have one last match in January, and considering how the rest of the month has gone there’s plenty of reason for optimism. Despite Napoli’s January record, though, their performances haven’t always matches the results, and if we know anything about Napoli, we know that they have a bad habit of dropping matches they should win easily — like, say, at home against Palermo.
Gulp.
Good news: The attack is in excellent form, and the defense is getting a boost in the form of the return of Faouzi Ghoulam to the lineup from AFCON. Kalidou Koulibaly is coming back soon with Senegal eliminated, but he’s not back quite yet. Fortunately, Nikola Maksimovic is starting coming off the heels of a fantastic performance in his last outing against Fiorentina, so there’s plenty of reason to think that things can still be fine.
Bad news: Palermo look kind of like they could be getting a New Manager Bump, and their team isn’t as bad as their performances might indicate.
Gulp.
