Stop me if you've heard this one before: Napoli are about to sign Swansea City's versatile attacker Michu.
Yes, yes, we've been talking about this for weeks now. A loan deal has been "close" pretty much since the moment the deal was first rumored. But now Sky Sports in England and Il Mattino in Italy are reporting that the deal is "imminent" and will be finished very, very soon, and we may soon be seeing Michu at training standing awkwardly next to Rafa Benitez and Marek Hamsik.
According to the various details floating around, the deal is, as expected, a season-long loan with an option to buy. The exact amount of the purchase option varies from report to report, but seems to be roughly €10 million, which would be a bargain if Michu can regain even most of his form from two years ago. He was one of the best attackers in England until a string of injuries wrecked his season last year. If he can get fit and firing again, Michu will be immensely valuable to Napoli.
Obviously we'll be keeping you up do date and bring you more when he signs, as well as a detailed scouting report of him as a player. In the meantime, enjoy Googling pictures of Michu's weirdly floppy hair.
