Well, this could've been much worse for Napoli. They've been drawn against Turkish side Trabzonspor for the next round of Europa League play. Napoli could've got Ajax. They could've got Liverpool, for goodness sake, which would've been a huge pain if Rafa Benítez is still lurking around after the end of the year. But Trabzonspor? That's doable.
The "Black Sea Storm" (Yes, that's their nickname, apparently) aren't having the best of seasons, currently sitting 8th in the Turkish Super Lig, although they've got a game in hand. Trabzonspor are currently managed by Ersun Yanal, who took Fenerbahce to the top of the table last season, although whether they had some help along the way is debatable.
Trabzonspor spent much of the season with Vahid Halilhodžić in the dugout, however. The Bosnian managed Algeria through to the knockout stages of the World Cup, but a string of three draws -- across all competitions -- was to be his undoing. So now it's Yanal, who managed a win against Mentalist, only to have Trabzonspor lose to Legia Warszawa on the final matchday. That meant the Turkish side finished second in their group, with a mere ten points.
So no, it shouldn't be a problem for Napoli. Except for the fact that this team seems to love coming up with new ways to stumble.
