Napoli v. Lazio: Coppa Italia Lineups And Match Thread

Napoli! Lazio! Coppa! Excitement!

Paolo Bruno

It's the Coppa Italia Quarterfinals against the other blue team in the league, and everybody's favorite moral punching bag to boot. Napoli host Lazio at the San Paolo for the rights to advance to the semi finals and all the glory therein. Or something.

The lineup card turned in by Rafa Benitez sees a return for Pepe Reina and the continued absence of Pablo Armero. While it's good to see Reina back in the lineup, not that Rafael has done anything less than a stellar job in his absence, I'm starting to wonder if there's some legitimacy to the recent rumors of Armero's impending departure. As expected, new boy Jorginho will make his starting debut alongside Gokhan Inler, while Marek Hamsik and Gonzalo Higuain will work on renewing their connection, which had been starting to look telepathic before Hamsik got hurt.

Lazio have a squad weakened by injury, illness, and suspension. The Onazi-Ledesma defensive midfield is an interesting one, but otherwise this looks on the surface to be a lineup ripe for the picking.

Just please don't screw this up, Napoli.

Napoli (4-2-3-1): Reina; Maggio, Fernandez, Albiol, Reveillere; Inler, Jorginho; Insigne, Hamsik, Callejón; Higuain

Lazio (3-4-2-1): Berisha; Ciani, Novaretti, Dias; Konko, Onazi, Ledesma, Lulic; Anderson, Keita; Perea
