After many feared something more serious after Insigne suffered a knee injury, the initial diagnosis is a relief.

Lorenzo Insigne celebrated his 100th Serie A appearance with a fantastic goal against Juventus in the first half of what wound up as a 2-1 win for Napoli, but he had to leave the match before that half was over. With Insigne limping heavily and clutching at the same knee that he tore up a season ago, Napoli fans waited with their hearts in their mouths for any news.

The news is in -- and you can breathe easy.

Insigne suffered a bone bruise to his right knee, which, while an unpleasant and painful injury, is not a serious one in any way. In fact, as of right now there aren't even further tests planned for the Italian forward, which is about as good a sign for his health as you could ask for.

Insigne was spotted returning to the bench during the second half of Napoli's win, which was in and of itself a relief to see, but this news only further improves the mood of the Napoli fanbase. Saturday's win would have been a bittersweet one if it came at the cost of another long-term injury to Insigne, who has been in fantastic form in his last few matches.

Insigne will almost certainly for Napoli's Europa League match in Poland on Thursday, and we probably won't see him against Milan next weekend either. It'd be nice to have him for that match at the San Siro, but if his fitness is uncertain at all, it'd be better to play it safe than risking his health.

Napoli's captain is feeling pretty darn good after that huge 2-1 win over Juventus.

It was a fantastic day at the San Paolo, with a strong Napoli performance seeing them upend Juventus to the tune of a 2-1 victory. While he didn't get on the scoresheet, Marek Hamsik still played very, very well in this match, and Napoli's captain is feeling pretty damn good about things right now.

We left everything on the pitch, it was a great match. The goal we conceded was a shame, but we managed to keep hold of the win. We were all happy at the end of the match, it was wonderful.

To dream of the Scudetto is not forbidden , but we are still far from the top of the standings. We are doing well, and we hope to gain ground. Our squad is competitive and we can have our say in all competitions.

Hamsik even got in a little dig on Juve's plight, as when asked about the effect this match will have on Juve, he said that Napoli are looking at Inter atop the Serie A table instead.

The claim of targeting the scudetto right now is a bold one, with Napoli sitting six points and nine places back of Inter for the lead in Serie A, with Inter and most of the league yet to play this weekend. Still, if Napoli can prove that the Carpi match was a blip and that their other three matches out of these past four are the reality, there's no reason to think that they can't close that gap in a hurry.

This season might just be getting fun, guys and gals. Time to see where this ride goes.

A confident and quality performance saw Napoli upend Juventus at the San Paolo.

This was exactly what we wanted: a confident, quality performance from Napoli against their most bitter rivals Juventus. Napoli took full advantage of Juve's early-season weaknesses, exploiting them to their full en route to a massive 2-1 win, courtesy of goals from Lorenzo Insigne and Gonzalo Higuain. This was the Napoli we've been waiting for all season. Nice to finally see them show up.

The match started off rather -- well, bizarrely. Juventus made a lot of strange mistakes with their passing, looking shaken and unsettled right off the bat, especially in defense. Even more strangely, Napoli seemed as surprised as the rest of us that Juve started so poorly, and struggled to take advantage of that apparent weakness.

Napoli were the team that settled into the match first, though, and the quickly started to assert control over the match, steadily working Juventus deeper and deeper down the pitch. It looked like it would only be a matter of time before Napoli scored, but with Gigi Buffon in goal, they were always going to have to work for it.

Work for it they did, and score they did, thanks to a lovely bit of play from Lorenzo Insigne that found a breakthrough. Some smart ball control in traffic at the top of the box lead to a 1-2 with Gonzalo Higuain that gave Insigne the space he needed to deliver a stinging shot that Buffon simply couldn't stop.

Napoli piled on some more pressure on Juve and for a time it looked like a bending defense would crack -- but instead it was Napoli who took the next blow, when Insigne went down in a heap and left the match holding his right knee, the same one that he tore up last season. It was heartbreaking seeing him leave the pitch like that, though the initial indications are that Insigne's injury was just a sprain, nothing serious, indications backed up by him returning to the bench in the second half.

That loss of momentum allowed Juventus to get back into the match a bit in the closing minutes of the half, and they came out swinging hard in the second half. Fortunately, assured showings from Allan, Elseid Hysaj, and Kalidou Koulibaly helped keep Juve at bay, and Napoli started wresting control away from the Old Lady again.

Napoli pushed hard to find a second goal and came close several times, but it wound up being a gift from Juventus that served up the breakthrough. Hernanes, who was a shock starter as Juventus' regista in this match, had been struggling at that deeper position all match long. Finally his mistakes got the best of him, as a pass intended for Simone Padoin died right in front of Higuain, who gladly took the ball and ran off towards Juventus' goal, snapping off a shot that Buffon could only get a hand to on it's way into the back of the net.

Unfortunately, that lead wouldn't last, as a weird bit of play cost Napoli dearly. Koulibaly and Raul Albiol collided on an attempt to clear a high ball to Simone Zaza -- Koulibaly's man in Napoli's marking scheme today -- leaving Paulo Dybala -- who Albiol should have been on -- space to run onto the loose ball and pick out a cross, which went to Mario Lemina at the far post. Koulibaly tried to get back to cover in time, but was a fraction too late as Lemina looped a ball in that beat Reina to the post.

Both sides had scoring opportunities from there, but they all came to naught as Napoli were able to hold on for an absolutely massive win over Juventus. It wasn't Napoli's best performance of the season so far, but they consistently did what they needed to do to keep Juve at bay, knock them off balance, and take advantage of their openings. This is the kind of play and performance that we were promised when Maurizio Sarri took over. It took awhile, but we're finally seeing what his vision of Napoli looks like. If it winds up with more wins like this, we'll all be happy for it.

Oh, and this result handed Juventus their third loss of the season, which is as many as they suffered for all of last season. So there's that. That's pretty nice.

A terrible pass from Hernanes gifted Napoli their second goal, which Higuain was too happy to take.

Juventus' passing at the back had been shaky all day long, thanks in part to the bizarre decision to start Hernanes as a de facto regista, a position he's never really played before and is much deeper on the pitch than he's typically comfortable playing. In the second half, he lazily rolled a pass off to his right that found Gonzalo Higuain instead of one of his teammates, and this happened:

That is a nice finish to beat Buffon, but the work leading up to the finish is frankly the best part. This maybe isn't a highlight-reel goal, but it's one well worth enjoying all the same.

Sadly, Juventus would score just a short time afterwards to make it 2-1, but hey, Napoli are still ahead.

Juventus have somehow struggled more than Napoli this season. Let's make their experience a little worse, shall we?

Good news, everyone! Napoli are above Juventus in the table! Somehow, some way, the Old Lady has "enjoyed" an even worse start to the Serie A season than Napoli have! Their record is a whopping one point worse, with two losses to Napoli's one! It's... something. Yeah. We're just holding onto the little things, really.

Kick 'em while they're down

Napoli have a huge and rare opportunity in this match: they're facing Juventus while they're vulnerable and beatable, arguably at the lowest point the bianconeri have been at since before they won the first of the current four-title run they're on. A win here would be a huge confidence boost for Napoli, and would help serve to push Juve even further into their season-opening tailspin.

Napoli vs. Juventus:September 26th, 2015 8:45 p.m. CET, 2:45 p.m. ET Stadio San PaoloNaples, Italy

Of course, the partenopei can't just assume that they have this match in the bag before it's played. It's not like they've been any better, after all. It's going to take a strong performance from Napoli to ensure a win in this match, and strong performances aren't something that have been easy to come by in Naples this season.

Fortunately, the team seems fairly healthy right now. There's been no word of fresh injuries after the Carpi match, so not everything was bad there. Jose Callejon and Jorginho are both expected to return to the lineup as well, so perhaps that ragingly confident form from the Lazio match will return. We can only hope.

Spin, spin, spinning away

It's easier to ask what hasn't gone wrong for Juventus this season than to ask what has. The answer? Uh... nothing, really. They've had injuries. They've had key players in poor form. They've had major brain farts in crucial moments. In other words, they've been last year's Napoli. In fact, they "pulled a Napoli" in a big way when they went to sleep late in their match against Frosinone, allowing the minnow squad to score deep in stoppage time to secure their first-ever Serie A point.

Yeah, Juventus have been that bad.

Their injury situation isn't getting any better, either. Still out are Claudio Marchisio, Sami Khedira, and Mario Mandzukic. More recent injury additions include Martin Caceres and Stephan Lichtsteiner, two injuries that will force Simone Padoin into the lineup and may force Juve to switch from Max Allegri's preferred 4-3-1-2 to a 3-5-2. Also in doubt is Alvaro Morata, who missed the Frosinone match after having to leave the weekend's game injured. The Old Lady's lineup looks in need of a walker to help prop it up with each passing week.

Projected Lineups Sure To Be Wrong

Napoli: Reina; Hysaj, Albiol, Koulibaly, Ghoulam; Allan, Jorginho, Hamsik; Callejon, Higuain, Insigne

Napoli's owner waxed poetic on Friday about the rivalry between two of Italy's biggest clubs and gave his manager his support again.

Napoli play Juventus on Saturday, a huge match for our beloved club not just for the fact that it can help them turn around a dismal start to the season, but also for the fact that it sees the partenopei go head to head with one of their most heated rivals. Perhaps the Derby del Sole with Roma is the "bigger" rivalry, but to many Napoli fans, the battles with Juventus have become far more important in recent years.

No one knows that more than Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis, and Napoli's outspoken owner took to the Radio Kiss Kiss airwaves to talk about exactly that, calling games against Juventus "special" and especially saying that tilts with them at the San Paolo are "the mother of all matches."

Where De Laurentiis would previously have spent much time going on about the match, though, he also spent some time praising Maurizio Sarri, his project, and the status of the club:

Let's give it some time. The championship is long and we give time to our coach to realize his project. Sarri is a true master, a professor of football, and he needs to work with his class footballers. On the market we are always active and will possibly act in January; we must always be sure to enhance our squad and test our players that have great value.

We're coming from three games where we scored 10 goals and gave up none. That means that we are a team and that we are on track.

Napoli in recent years has been one of the best expressions of the city. When outsiders only spoke of the "land of fires" and trashed us, we took important results in the international arena. We played in the Champions League, and for the last six years we are the only [Italian] team to participate in European competitions every year.

-Source: SSC Napoli official site

While everything in that is technically correct, it's a bit of a "always look on the bright side of life" view of things (stop whistling!). To be honest, I'm growing concerned that De Laurentiis is building Sarri up to be some kind of messiah, because he's not that at all. He seems like a solid manager, make no mistake, but he's not some all-conquering hero.

Anyways. Hopefully this weekend's match against Juventus is as much a classic in this rivalry as we've grown used to seeing of late, and ends as a win for Napoli. A hard-fought win over the Old Lady would be a huge feather in Sarri's cap, and a big boost to the team as they navigate a tough stretch of their schedule. Fingers crossed that things end up with a happy result.

With a match against Juventus looming, it's time to sit down with our favorite Old Lady blogger and see what's up in Turin.

Matches against Juventus are always a hot-blooded affair for Napoli, with a growing rivalry between the two clubs often extending into the fanbase. It's not all bitter hatred, though, because there's a handful of decent folks in the Juventus fanbase.

As we often do before matches against the bianconeri, we rang up Danny Penza -- who runs fellow SB Nation blog Black & White & Read All Over and does an excellent job of covering Juventus -- to ask him about the state of his team. As always, his answers are insightful and amusing and well worth your time.

The Siren's Song: Who's had the more disappointing season so far, Napoli or Juventus?

Black & White & Read All Over: I think it's Juventus just for the simple fact of how difficult some aspects of the summer mercato were and the season they are coming off of. It's hard to think that a little less than four months ago this club nearly won the treble. Now, they're struggling to pick up points in Serie A. Obviously a big part of that has to do with so much change happening personnel-wise. When you see Juve rack up 36 shots and only put seven on frame against Frosinone it's hard to not think of Carlos Tévez or Arturo Vidal. But they're not coming back, and it's not like the summer signings are bad. Even with all the change this summer this team still has very high hopes and the bar is obviously set very, very high based on previous seasons. Once it clicks it will be enjoyable, but we just don't know when it will click.

TSS: Juventus have had to deal with a lot of injuries. Is that the cause of their struggles, or is there something more going on?

BWRAO: It really does seem like it's a perfect storm where everything and anything is causing this team to struggle right now. It's clear this team is lacking the on-field chemistry that made them so good over the last couple of years. Injuries to players like Claudio Marchisio have stripped the current starting lineup of one of its most important leaders. Some players are out of form, others are just struggling to do much of anything right. It's tough right now, but like I've said before, this team is too talented not to right the ship eventually. Maybe most of all, they just need to get their minds right and start playing confidently once again. Whenever that happens, the positive results will arrive.

TSS: What do you see as the key to shutting Napoli down in this match?

BWRAO: Juventus scoring more goals than Napoli, duh.

Seriously, though, I think at this point just hoping for as close to a complete game as possible out of Juventus is what they need to try and beat any team, let alone one like Napoli. They're clearly not at full strength and Allegri is clearly trying to find the right formation these days to try and spark the squad domestically. Consistency hasn't exactly been a word I've been able to use a lot of when talking about Juventus this season. (Unless it's "consistently playing like crap," but that's just me being grumpy.)

Thanks again for joining us Danny. As soon as the opposite side of this Q&A is posed, we'll get a link up for you to see my answers to his questions. Make sure to follow Danny and BWRAO on Twitter, because the "#banter," as the kids say, will be "lit" and "unreal." Or something.
