The signing of Croatian international left back Ivan Strinic on a free transfer is all but complete. According to virtually every paper and other news source in Italy, the former Dnipro player passed his Monday medical with flying colors and is ready to sign his new contract as soon as his current contract expires on New Years Eve.
Most of those sources are also reporting that Aurelio De Laurentiis is, for some reason, trying to get Dnipro to let Strinic go early so he can go ahead and sign now. Why he doesn't want to wait the extra day is a bit of a mystery, but hey, ADL is a crazy person and we love him anyways, so it's really just business as usual.
The signing will, likely, be officially announced on New Years Day, and we'll have more to say about Strinic then. He'll also likely be publicly unveiled on January 2nd, as Napoli have a practice session schedule for then that will be open to the public. Napoli's other all-but-done signing, Manolo Gabbiadini, might also be able to be unveiled then as the transfer window will have opened by then, allowing him to complete his move from Sampdoria and sign with Napoli.
