Aurelio De Laurentiis Confronts A Fan

Tensions were high after the Parma atrocity, and Napoli's owner snapped when one traveling fan got a little too mouthy.

You may have seen this already, but it's worth covering here just for the sheer ridiculousness of it.

Leaving the Stadio Ennio Tardini after the horrowshow that was the Parma match, Napoli owner and president Aurelio De Laurentiis was in an understandably bad mood. After all, his team that he spent a lot of money to put together had just lost in embarrassing fashion and continued a worsening tailspin that's been going on for months. So when a member of the traveling Napoli fans who had been in attendance started shouting at him as he went to get in his car, De Laurentiis that he had had enough.

He broke through his security escort and made a beeline for the heckler in question, shouting at him and trying to instigate a fight. De Laurentiis' staff were able to keep the 64 year old from doing anything too stupid, and eventually he locked himself in his car for awhile before being driven away.

While the whole incident may not be quite as crazy as getting on a stranger's moped and riding off in to the sunset after shouting his way out of a Serie A scheduling meeting, this is certainly one for the "Oh, De La, you crazy" file. Most Italian owners schedule consolation meetings with representatives of their fan groups after such a loss. Instead, De Laurentiis tries to throw down with one. He certainly doesn't put up with any crap, does he?

For those interested, the video of the incident is below. Start watching around the one minute mark.

I say again: Oh, De La. You crazy.
