Edinson Cavani will miss tomorrow's match against Atalanta

Napoli's leading scorer will not be available tomorrow as he continues to struggle with a muscle injury

Giuseppe Bellini

Napoli announced today that Edinson Cavani is set to miss his second straight Serie A match when the club travels to face Atalanta tomorrow at the Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.

Cavani sat out of Napoli's 1-0 win over Chievo last weekend and will again be sidelined as a precautionary measure as our amazingly wonderful striker is still struggling with pain from an injury in his flexor muscle.

It's not the end of the world for Napoli to be without Cavani considering there are bigger matches ahead in which his unqiue skills will be required more, but it's still disconcerting because injuries like this have a way of lingering. So with El Matador out, look for Mazzarri to again deploy the front three of Lorenzo Insigne, Goran Pandev and Marek Hamsik. Not too shabby at all, but we'd all of course rather have Cavani out there.

Juan Zuniga will also be out of the lineup after limping off against Chievo.
